Your new role
Your team will become like family and you’ll be working alongside many people who have enjoyed multiyear employment with SMS.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the service operations of Welding, Field Sales Support and Mechanical Services. You will be responsible for driving results by developing and managing short and long term planning strategies, processes, and events that foster a positive experience for internal and external customers. Collaborating with the Ops Manager & Branch Manager, you will be creating, monitoring and implementing scheduling planning to maximize productivity.
You will providing guidance and support to the Operations Manager, Supervisors, HR, Administrators and the Safety team. As the Service Manager, you will be a seasoned product specialist with technical knowledge on complex Mining, Construction, Forestry and Utility products.
About the Location
Elkford is located in the Eastern portion of BC, about 4 hours from Calgary and is near Cranbrook, Sparwood, and Fernie. It is mountainous and has a large variety of outdoors living associated with it. The economy is largely driven by mining, and coal mining specifically.
What you'll need to succeed
As the Service Manager, you will have 5-7 years’ mechanical and supervisory experience. You will be a vital part of the team, upholding the standards of the company with strong knowledge of electrical, welding and mechanical repairs. You will be able to enforce compliance regulations to meet safety standards, able to oversee work projects and allocate work in a manner that best utilises the available manpower and able to develop, plan and implement short/long-term goals.
As a Service Manager, you will be have effective interpersonal skills and are able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals and groups. You will we be able to analyze and interpret financial data & prepare financial reports, statements and/or projects as well as analyze budgetary expenditures.
